Yes, unless you like mold. As soon as the vacuum seal is broken the contents are exposed to air. Air contains all kinds of spores that cause mold. While the peanut butter itself will not go bad, in the sense that milk goes bad, it can get moldy if not refrigerated after it is opened.

Nah, there's no real reason to refrigerate processed peanut butter since they have preservatives that can keep them good 2 years or more. Now if you leave natural peanut butter out too long the oils will separate but that takes months. In the fridge organic peanut butter will last about 6 months.
